On 30th October, APRE (Agenzia per la Promozione e della Ricerca Europea. Rome, Italy) hosted its second facilitation and monitoring workshop, bringing together the Italian SLEs pilot initiators and stakeholders. This event was attended by 22 participants, all contributing to a collaborative atmosphere aimed at advancing the shared mission of the SLEs initiative.
The Workshop
Over the course of this 2.5-hour session, participants engaged in a mutual learning workshop, sharing insights, challenges, and achievements related to their respective pilot projects. Each initiator presented their project’s progress, including the first two phases of the SLEs methodology: defining their project idea and establishing essential partnerships. These partnerships were solidified through collaboration agreements and a sustained engagement process, with each pilot team leveraging interdisciplinary expertise from diverse stakeholders. As of today, all Italian SLEs pilots have successfully achieved these foundational phases, marking a significant milestone in their journey.
During the workshop, APRE introduced the upcoming phases of the SLEs methodology to the initiators. Phase 3, focusing on co-creation, will see initiators further collaborating with stakeholders to design targeted learning opportunities and to identify and allocate resources necessary for the project’s learning pathways. This phase will also involve developing a clear action plan, complete with timelines and defined roles, supported by templates and tools provided by the SLEs project team.
In Phase 4, participants will move toward active implementation, collecting feedback from students and teachers, and ensuring regular updates on the project’s progress through shared platforms. The Italian SLEs community showed their progresses, reflecting a shared commitment to enhancing educational impact through STEAM-based learning.
Looking ahead
They will continue supporting each project through regular workshops and personalized guidance, along with upcoming training sessions and additional templates to facilitate their work. With a total of 12 pilot projects now set to continue into 2024-2025, involving a diverse range of stakeholders, we will definitely witness the outcomes of these innovative educational endeavors.
